UAE Hands Over Two High-Profile Fugitives to Belgium.
The UAE Ministry of Interior, in coordination with Dubai Police and Sharjah Police, has handed over two fugitives to the Belgian authorities following their arrest based on a red notice issued by INTERPOL, as part of the country's ongoing efforts to strengthen international security cooperation and combat transnational organized crime. The first fugitive, considered one of Belgium’s most wanted, faces charges of cross-border drug trafficking and leading a dangerous criminal gang, while the second faces charges of drug and psychotropic trafficking and money laundering. The handover followed a judicial ruling and a decision by the Ministry of Justice, underscoring the UAE’s commitment to international legal procedures and partnerships with global law enforcement agencies. This step highlights the UAE’s proactive role in sharing security expertise and enhancing both national and international safety, reflecting its continuous efforts to protect communities from cross-border crime.
